Communication with members and families

Communication with members and families

Council: 10019 - LEWISTON

Project Description:

Communication is one of the KEY factors in having a successful council. Letting all the members know what is going on and what has gone on keeps everyone interested and excited to be involved.
A brother knight has undertaken the task of putting out a council newsletter, “Knight News”, every month for the past several years. Not only has he put together the newsletter but has also undertaken the job of council photographer. Adding pictures with articles makes it much more interesting to read. (A picture is worth a thousand words.) Not only do the 20 to 25 members that attend our meetings know what is going on, but all 130 members are kept up to date.
Putting together the council newsletter can take 5 to 10 hours a month depending on what is happening in the council and in the parish. Our council’s activities are all highlighted every month with pictures letting all know exactly what is going on or what has taken place. The Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator write a monthly article. A calendar of upcoming events is listed each month. Council officers, directors, addresses, emails, seminarians sponsored by both the council and assembly, Knight of the Month and Family of the Month are just some of the things and events covered in this newsletter.
The newsletter is then emailed to approximately 150 email accounts and 25 newsletters are printed and mailed to members without email. It is also inserted onto our council webpage, It reaches an unknown number of families and hopefully endorses the Knights of Columbus!
