Project Description:
One of our Council Brother Knights and one of our community resident’s set-up and put on an early Christmas Luncheon on 16 December 2021 in our Community Common Room. Recently one of the community resident’s son I just found out, plays his Saxophone for senior groups, and business gatherings during the year. Our council brother knight took the time and went to his home and spoke with him reference to playing his Saxophone at our Christmas community luncheon on 16 December 2021. The meeting was a positive one, and he said he would be more than happy to play Christmas songs for the senior group at no charge. Also, one of the resident’s made homemade pizzas, and some of the residents volunteered to bring all the fixings to go with a pizza pie. Because of Covid-19 Variants, its’ been two years since the owners of our complex has put on a meal for Christmas. Our council brother approached the owners and asked if they would mind the residents and musician celebrating the Christmas season in the common room, and he was given permission. It was a genuinely nice Christmas celebration, and such a good way to share time and laughter with one another. In attendance today was our oldest Viet-Nam Veteran who is living with agent orange on his own. With the strength given to him by God, he continues to move ahead and enjoys life the best he can. Being a veteran myself, as well as a Knight of Columbus, I continue to watch over him and help him when he needs the help. This gathering today was just another way of giving back, my gifts and talent. Being a Knight of Columbus is so rewarding, by reaching out in this celebration, of an early Christmas celebration during the Advent Season.
