Confession Organization
Confession Organization
Council: 114 - BANGOR
Project Description:
Nov 7-10, the Saint Paul the Apostle Parish welcomed Fr. Larry Richards a national speaker to our parish to present the mission. We averaged 500 attendees a night and it was coordinated by Brother Doug Guerrette. Doug asked Brother EJ Hikel to lead the 3 night, which is the reconciliation and healing night held on Wednesday Nov 9th. Knowing we would have many parishioners going to confession, Brother Deacon Luis Sanclemente helped gather 10 additional priests (along with Fr. Larry) from Bangor and the local parishes as far north as Lincoln and south as August. We coordinated several Pine Cone Council Brother Knights to be confession ushers and help the attendees know which confession line goes to which priest and where the confession lines start. Each usher had large sign printed by the parish office for each confessor. The signs were glued to five gallon wooden paint stirrers from the local hardware store (5 were donated, 6 were purchased). All the ushers ended up being knights except 2. Doug and EJ were runners to make sure the ushers had what they needed and to allow them breaks. The confessions were heard from 8:30-10:45 and there was amazing healing and a well coordinated faith event.
