Council Officers Meeting/Planning Workshop. 15791
Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
Project Description:
Eleven of our council members which included our visiting Seminarian who is a member of our council participated in a Council Officers Meeting/Planning Meeting on September 11, 2018 at Holy Martyr’s Church Meeting Room. This evening a number of items was discussed by our council Grand Knight, and those Officers in attendance. The main topic of discussion at this workshop was fund raising. Our Grand Knight passed out to each a copy of the Supreme Council SMART Fraternal Planning Work Sheet. The object of this was to have the officers brainstorm new idea’s, new ways in Fund Raising. It was felt by some of the officers that some of the fund raisers we have attempted in the pass have not been very fruitful, and we need fresh idea’s. At the October Business Meeting the council officers and Grand Knight will be sharing some of the new project idea’s with the council, and ask for their input as well. In order for our council to become more active in “Building the Domestic Church, and bringing these programs to our Parish in support of our Pastor and one another, we must have a certain amount of operating cash to do this. One other item which was brought to the table was the purchase of a Plaque of Appreciation for one of our Council Brothers who is a Fourth Degree Member. He and his wife are one of our founding council families. During the last year or so his health has been failing him, and due to his illness and being in a wheel chair now his wife is no longer able to care for him and bring him to meetings and events. It was suggested by the Grand Knight that we present this Council Brother and his Wife a joint Plaque of Appreciation for all the support they have given their council and church since 2013. We must as Brother Knights and Catholic’s take care of one another just like we take care of those in need outside the council and church. We will miss this brother’s service and friendship very much. May the Good Lord continue to watch over he and his family in their time of need.
