Dedication of AED to OLHP St. Joseph's Church in memory of Br. Dave Haverty

Project Description:
A charter member of Council 11257, Bro. Dave Haverty, passed away in November of 2020. The family, in lieu of flowers, recommended donating to the Knights of Columbus Council 11257 to help continue the good works of the council. Bro. Dave was the leader of our Coats for Kids Program for the years since we been involved. The council discussed how we could honor Dave and it was decided to donate an AED for placement in St. Joseph’s Church in the event of a medical situation. A plaque was graciously donated by Bro. Dick Pratt, owner of ODAT machinery to be placed with the AED in remembrance of Dave. The dedication was held on June 20 at the Church. Dave’s widow along with 13 of his family members were in attendance. The dedication was performed by pastor Fr. Paul Sullivan outside in front of the Church. After the dedication ended 5 people at a time safely entered the church and had an opportunity to view the plaque and AED. The family was very appreciative of the recognition for Bro. Dave. Memorial donations of $760 was matched by the council to purchase the AED for $1,500.
