Eric Mahl Presentation

Eric Mahl Presentation

07/30/2018

Council: 11376 - BRIDGTON-FRYEBURG

Project Description:

Eric Mahl, a former NFL football player was invited to speak at our church by one of our parishoners (St. Joseph’s, 225 South High Street, Bridgton, ME 04009) on July 28, 2018. Eric is currently serving as part of the formation team of the Marian Missionaries of the Divine Mercy near Stockbridge, MA.

Eric spoke to us for approximately one hour explaining his incredible faith journey. He left the fame and fortune of professional sports (giving away all his money and possessions) and lived for 3 years as a hermit in the dessert of southwest Texas tending sheep and studying the bible. After his dessert experience he intentionally lived as a homeless person on the streets of Cleveland, Ohio getting to know himself and his “BROTHERS”
THROUGH GOD’S EYES AND WITH GODS HELP.

His message was simply: The importance of the LOVE OF GOD, RIGHT NOW! He loves us now NOW no matter what!!

He shares himself and his gifts with his “brothers” in life everyday, appreciates and sees how Jesus manifests himself in all aspects of life and in people of all backgrounds, religious and viewpoints and wants us to know this for ourselves.

Our council offered a light complimentary dinner after mass on Saturday prior to Eric’s presentation. Eric was joined by his wife Christie and his adorable daughter Faustina.

I found his presentation very inspirational.
