Fair Trade Coffee Sales

Project Description:

There are seven individuals who sell and coordinate distribution of the Fair Trade Coffee Program at St. Bernard’s Church. Five of those involved are members of Limerock Council #136. The program works through Catholic Relief Services to support coffee growers in third world countries by providing them with an outlet for their coffee that is fairly priced to allow them to make a living wage. Once a month orders are taken at the three Masses at St. Bernard’s. The orders are then called in to the supplier. Once the coffee is received they are packaged per customer and then distributed. The money collected is given to the parishes central office.
