Council: 2266 - OLD ORCHARD BEACH

Project Description:

On Saturday, November 2, 2019 KC Council 2266 hosted a fall community supper at St. Margaret’s Church Hall in Old Orchard Beach. We had 108 paying customers and raised a total of $1086.00. Less expenses of $247.90 we were able to make a total donation of $838.10 to Esther Residence, a local non-profit organization in neighboring Saco.

A transitional program for women who are leaving incarceration and/or treatment program. Esther Residence provides a safe, nurturing community that is based on safety, respect and dignity. It focuses on assisting each woman in identifying and celebrating her strengths and gifts. The home is a bridge that promotes healthy connections to family (when appropriate) and to the larger community. Esther Residence also provides short-term housing for women who are awaiting admission to another level of substance abuse treatment. For more information, please visit http://www.scimsisters.org/our-ministries/esther-residence.

All those in attendance enjoyed a great turkey pie and pork pie dinner with all the fixings, including dessert, while benefiting an important local resource for women who are leaving incarceration and/or treatment programs for addiction.
