Project Description:

I attended a zoom meeting that lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes for the Board Of Directors for the Family Violence Project. I have been a board member for the past 4 or so years. This is a voluntary position.
The Family Violence Project serves the victims of domestic violence in a variety of ways. They provide a safe shelter for the victims, court advocacy during hearings, food for the families, and guidance through the court system including the obtaining of protection orders among other things such as educational projects and the training and staffing of advocates and a phone hot line.
Domestic Violence is a serious problem in our communities. Agencies such as the Family Violence Project deserve the support of organizations like the Knights of Columbus. As a board member I vote on issues that affect the operation of the agency and lend general support.
