Project Description:

The Christmas Food Basket (Feeding my People) What a wonderful project for the parish. All this took place on December 19,21 and 22nd in the basement of Holy Rosary Church in Caribou, Me. The planning of this (Project Hope) under the parish council took place months and weeks in advance. The 210 baskets were filled with 50 turkeys and 116 chickens: as well as four pallets of a variety of canned vegetables ,fruit to include loves of bread, pasta, pastries and a bag of potatoes. Gifts from the Church Giving Tree were attached to the baskets. Many hours were volunteered by parishioners, Brother Knights, Daughters of Isabella and Ladies of St.Ann. Our pastor Fr. Dave Raymond was right in the thick of it. We began by assembling 52 boxes on each set of tables and then the sorting of the food and gifts in he baskets.
. All the families received a complete Christmas dinner and a gift. What an awesome project (Feeding my People) following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and our Founder Fr. Michael J. McGiviney and our Modern day Disciples. To see the immediate emotions of these families faces says it all.
