First 2020 Blood Drive

Project Description:

Our council hosted the Red Cross in our first blood drive of 2020, held at the Best Western Inn on Main St. in Waterville. We had approximately 40 potential donors show up, most of whom were on the appointment list. Those who were not had to wait for an opening in the schedule, as there were fewer stations available for donors because of the smaller room size. At our next drive, we will be asking for a larger room to allow for more stations. At this drive, a total of 33 pints of blood was collected, which can help many more patients in need of blood supplies. We had four Knights who helped with registration and refreshments after donating and one Knight who came in to donate. We will be continuing this valuable ministry as long as possible.
