Project Description:

Fifty nine council brothers, wives and parishioners participated in our Parish First Annual Nine Week NOVENA for Pro-Life. These Novena’s were held at Holy Martyr’s Chapel, and Saint Gregory’s Church in our Parish. The NOVENA ran from September 29, through November 25, 2018. With the new Faith In Action Program now in place several of our council officers and-our Seminarian met with the Faith Formation director, and our Pastor and spoke about conducting a Nine Week NOVENA in our Parish, sponsored by the Parish Knights. After some planning a Team was set-up by our Deputy Grand Knight to cover both churches for the nine weeks. Seminarian Joe Moreshead, DGK Joe Mathew OFS, Brother Gary Potvin our Pro-Life Director, and Mrs. Rita Tanguay were the Team leaders at Holy Martyr’s. At Saint Gregory’s there were DGK Joe Mathew OFS, and four of the regular weekly team members who took the lead for nine weeks. The protection of life is a sustained prayer intention of the Church, and in particular of the Knights of Columbus. As Knights and Parishioners of this Parish, we remain firmly committed to defending the right to life of every human being – from the moment of conception to natural death. To commemorate and bolster this important cause, we were very pleased as a Knights council to have been able to take the lead in this Prayer Program, and look forward to once again doing this during 2019 with one another and our Parish members.
