Food For Families Program: Breakfast Fundraiser

Project Description:

Our Council conducted a well attended breakfast to raise money for the popular St. Joseph Food Pantry. $393.00 was raised and the Council voted to add $107.00 to that amount bringing the total to $500.00 which enables the Council to receive a $100.00 refund from Supreme as a function of the Food for Families Program. The Food Pantry provides food to some 200 needy families in the area and buys most of these items from the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn, ME. A dozen or so members of the Council are active in the Food Pantry unloading trucks and helping distribute food to these families. This effort by the Knights is reported on other Surge Reports and amounts to 700+ hours so far this year. Some of our Knights also volunteer at other food pantries in the area.
