Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
Project Description:
Five council brothers participated with fifty parishioner from surrounding churches in the area on a Reflection Pilgrimage to Madison Maine. This event took place on Saturday August 11, 2018 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The departing point for this Pilgrimage was Holy Martyr’s Church in Falmouth at 7:00 AM. They visited the places where Fr. Rale preached and ministered. The special pilgrimage mainly focused in Madison Maine where the participants were able to follow the footsteps of Fr. Sebastian Rale. There were several opportunities for prayer and meditation during the pilgrimage, and excerpts from letters written by or about Fr. Rale along with several scripture passages. In concluding our pilgrimage a procession to the site of the old mission at Old Pointe in Madison, Maine. The procession was roughly a half mile. As part of this Pilgrimage several Altar Servers were present and were very pleased with the day. Our visiting Seminarian also made arrangements for a guest speaker to attend our reflection time. She was from the state of Alabama and is a descendant of the Abenanki Indian Tribe. As part of the days programs there was a time for Adoration, and the five Stations of the Cross were conducted. Each station was marked with a special stone. A special thank you goes out to our visiting Seminarian who made the arrangements for this Fr. Rale Pilgrimage for those who attended. I personally felt the Holy Spirit move in me today along with others who attended this Reflection Pilgrimage.
