Project Description:
A Brother Knight, Romeo El Chaer moved to the United States two years ago, he registered with St. Paul the Apostle Parish and met a Brother Knight in doing so. These two Knights got to know each other and eventually Romeo became a Brother Knight. Brother Romeo was an intrigal Catholic Parishioner back home in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2016 the city of Beirut was Bombarded in war and has been left with a 60 percent unemployment rate. As a result, Romeo and his family moved to the United Sates and came to Bangor, Maine.
Brother Romeo has been advocating for support of his previous parish since becoming a brother knight, and on Saturday April 30th, we hosted a fundraiser; A Cribbage Tournament. 19 participants in the tournament, each player played eight games, and the four best scores than had a play off with a Brother Knight John Large the victor.
In all a great day was had by all, we had coffee and donuts, deviled eggs, and for lunch grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, Cole slaw and cookies. We raised $450.00 in support of catholic families in Beirut, Lebanon.
A great day of fellowship was had by the entire gathering.
