Funeral Luncheon
Funeral Luncheon
Council: 114 - BANGOR
Project Description:
A brother Knight, having just lost his wife Sharon Brimmer, was in need of some advice and support. Just after a few minutes of discussion it became clear that our Brother “Spike” needed his Brothers help.
Spike was told that his brothers would take care of the readings, would bring down the gifts, and we would put on the meal following the Funeral Mass.
Fr. Bruce performed the service, doing so very nicely, the Knights brought down the gifts in preparation of the Eucharist and about 13 brothers donated food or funds towards food for the luncheon.
Brother Spike was given the following Note after the Luncheon:
On behalf of your brother knights, we send heart-felt Sympathy for the loss of you beloved wife, Sharon. I’ve heard it said many times that the Lord works in mysterious ways, in Sharon’s passing it is yet one more example of this phrase. The Knights along with you, family, friends mourn the loss of Sharon and the life she lived along-side of you these many years. May our prayers and sympathies help with your mourning and grasping for what comes next.
Your brothers stand united in Pray for you and your family Spike, we all thought the world of Sharon and her quiet, peaceful demeanor and grace. May the Lord’s perpetual Light Shine on her and raise her up into his heavenly embrace. Peace be with you Sharon. May our petitions be your guiding light to your resting place in heaven.
Brother Spike the Knights want you to know, that the luncheon is on us, you shall have no bill, as you and Sharon have given a life time of service to mankind in general, and to the Parish community in particular. This is our humble offering to you Sir Knight.
A humble service to a dear brother Knight’s wife. Viva Jesus!
