Council: 10020 - No. WINDHAM

Project Description:

Our Council held a Haddock Dinner fundraiser on April 7 in our parish hall. The theme of the fundraiser was a haddock dinner. Dinner included haddock, carrots, mashed potatoes, rolls, cole slaw, and homemade deserts made by knights and spouses. Brother Knights were involved in planning, marketing the event, purchasing food, setting up the hall, preparing and cooking the food, serving community guests, running a 50/50 auction, cleaning up afterwards, and reorganizing the parish hall. Sixteen Knights and thirteen other volunteers helped prepare 120 meals. The event raised $500 for “Riding to the Top”. The Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center is a local non-profit dedicated to helping people with disabilities reach their highest potential through the healing power of horses. The benefit of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies include improvement in balance, strength, coordination, motor control, sensory processing, attention, problem solving, sequencing, planning, self-control, motivation, self confidence and self-esteem.
