Haddock Dinner Fundraiser to support the Community of the Resurrection
Haddock Dinner Fundraiser to support the Community of the Resurrection
Council: 10020 - No. WINDHAM
Project Description:
Our Council held a haddock dinner fundraiser on March 10 2018 in our parish hall. The theme of the fundraiser was a haddock dinner. Dinner included haddock, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls, cole slaw, pizza, and homemade deserts made by our Knights and spouses. Brother Knights were involved in planning, marketing the event, purchasing food and supplies, setting up the hall, preparing and cooking the food, serving community guests, running a 50/50 auction, cleaning up after the event, and reorganizing the parish hall. We prepared and served 126 meals. The twelve Knights and seven other volunteers that staffed the event raised $1000 for the Community of the Resurrection. The Community of the Resurrection in Otisfield Maine is associated with the Dominican Order as members of the Dominican Laity. The Community’s Mission is to provide shelter and spiritual renewal to women whose lives are broken and battered in some way, from an abusive relationship or an addiction to drugs or alcohol, improving the family life of those they serve. Community members also visit men and women in prison.
