Helping a Blindman in the community

Project Description:

A social worker contacted St. Paul the Apostle Parish seeking help with a blindman’s move from one residence in Orono to one in Bangor, Maine. It was said that he had only a few items to move, items to large and he ran out of time to get moved. Turns out that John has impaired vision. He was able to navigate easily as Gil & me!!! The Orono apartment was 3 rooms with about 4 pickup loads & not much packed. We loaded my pickup, Gil’s SUV & The Caseworkers car to the maximum & still had that much remaining. Neither Gil nor I was able to assist with more than 1 trip from 9:00-11:45 AM.

Another good community project that we were happy to assist with.
