Helping a Council Brother and his Wife in their Time of Need. 15791
Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
Project Description:
Eight council brothers and three wives volunteered to answer the call for help at one of our Council Members home on Saturday May 5, 2018. About a week or so ago, one of our council brothers wife experienced chest and rib pain. Unknown what was going on our council brother contacted his wife’s heart specialist to notify him as to what was going on. Upon the doctors office looking into admitting his wife into a Portland Hospital, they found there was no beds available in the cardiac section. So a call immediately went out to a hospital in Lewiston and a room and doctor was standing by awaiting her arrival. This past Tuesday evening our brother reported that his wife was doing better and was released back home. On Wednesday a request went out to his brothers from the wife and her husband reference the need of help in cleaning their property up from the Winter blow downs, leaves etc. Seeings as both our brother and his wife have cardiac problems, our Grand Knight put out the request for a work detail to form on Saturday to help our Brother and his Wife with cleaning up the property and the small garden plot they have. So today Eight Council Brothers and Three knights Wives pitched in with rakes and other tools to beautify the property. Following the work detail our council brother and his wife served refreshments and drinks to all who came to lend a hand. Our Spiritual Advisor Deacon Dennis Popadak was in the area and stopped in for a few minutes before participating in a Funeral. Our Grand Knight asked him if he could take a picture of the brothers and their wives who made this day possible. United in one another, the tasks were complete. Fr. Michael J. McGivney would have been happy to have been a part of this day. Thank you Brothers and Wives.
