Installation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Brown Scapular

Project Description:

Brother Knight Martin asked the Council to sponsor the Installation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Council Chaplain Father Dave set the date for 14 August, the Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Martin coordinated the event with the Parish and an article was placed in the bulletin for 2 months promoting the event throughout the 10 churches (District 2). Program Director Mark also publicized the event with the Churches in District 1 (St. John Valley). The Council paid for the scapulars with donations and each parishioner was given a scapular upon entering St. Louis Church. Father Dave conducted the Installation Service after the homily. (He also gave an history of the purpose of the brown scapular relating the Carmelites.) During the installation all parishioners were asked to hold their scapulars in their hands while the blessing was taking place.
