Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest
Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest
Council: 13861 - SANFORD
Project Description:
57 St. Thomas School students participated in the Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest sponsored by the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council #13861.
Past Grand Knight John Chandonnet met with St. Thomas School Acting Principal Erica Sanborn to finalize the contest details. The council also furnished the poster paper for the contest. There were three divisions: Kindergarten to Grade 2, Grades 3 to 5 and Grades 6 to 8. The students were given until Friday, December 16th to turn in their posters. John Chandonnet, Terry Sylvanus, State Deputy Secretary Ray Sargent and Grand Knight Dennis Breton judged the posters on Monday, December 19, 2022 to determine the winner and runner-up in each division.
The winners of each division received a $50 Walmart gift card; and the runners-up received a $25 Walmart gift card. Each participant received a certificate.
Acting Principal Erica Sanborn and the faculty were extremely enthusiastic about the Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest and offered much support and encouragement to the students. This was evident by the overwhelming participation in the poster contest by the students at St. Thomas School. It was rewarding to witness the creative talents of each student and how each of them expressed what Christmas meant to themselves and the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ in this joyous season!
