Project Description:

I became involved in promoting a recognition of the accomplishments and sacrifices of various occupations particularly during the Pandemic. This activity was started by Mike Seavey in conjunction with Maine AFL-CIO.
We met on June 22nd along with Pastor Nic Benner of the Granite Hill Baptist Church. The essence of this project is to have various Faith Leaders incorporate in their sermons during the Labor Day Weekend acknowledgement of workers and their contributions to our society. Also we hope that the sermons would reflect the dignity of all work.
I have been asked by Mike to attempt a meeting with the Pastor of St. Michael’s Parish in Augusta to enlist his support for this endeavor. Pastor Benner expressed his support at the end of our meeting.
