Council: 8144 - SCARBOROROUGH

Project Description:

Council 8144 put on our third Lenten dinner to raise money for our Council Charities. There were 108 tickets sold. The meal consisted of baked haddock, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetables, coleslaw, rolls and dessert. We had hoped for more attendance but still managed to make $716 for our charities. We talked about the meal quality to many of the attendees to determine if the changes we made this year to reduce the manpower required had an impact on their view of the quality of the meal. Changes we made were to go from peeling the potatoes to purchasing pre-peeled and pre-mashed potatoes, not serving rice and not serving three vegetable offerings. There were some complaints about the temperature of the potatoes. It took us until the 2023 dinners to learn how to heat the potatoes.
