Maine Childrens Cancer Program
Council: 2755 - SPRINGVALE
Project Description:
Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP)—the pediatric oncology program of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center—is Maine’s premier treatment center for children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. MCCP has three primary areas of focus: providing children with access to the best cancer treatments available, participating in clinical research to improve survival rates and move closer to a cure, and supporting the entire family throughout their journey with childhood cancer.
Two fundraisers to support this program occurred on July 30th and August 15th. On July 30th, a meal was served as a fundraiser at the Elks Lodge in Sanford Maine which included seafood clowder and clam chowder. On August 15th a motorcycle run was done from 10am -3pm in Sanford and Waterboro. Brother Knights Dan Boulet, John Chasse, Dave Chasse, Matt Chasse and Justin Thibodeau participated in these events and raised over $200 amongst themselves for this important cause. The estimated total for these two events in this campaign is estimated to be over $7500.
