Our Final Stand-Alone Second Degree Ceremonial
Our Final Stand-Alone Second Degree Ceremonial
Council: 114 - BANGOR
Project Description:
On Sunday, February 2, 2020, Pine Cone Council hosted the final exemplification of the formation degree conducted by District 4 under the direction of District Deputy Jon Jozefowicz. Five candidates presented themselves for this ceremony. They came from our council as well as Council 149 in Calais and Council 2089 in Skowhegan. The ceremony went very well, with the candidates paying close attention and appearing to learn the lesson on unity that is the focus of this ceremonial. Following the ceremony, the new second degree members reported that they were edified by the lesson taught. It is with mixed emotions that the second degree presenters held this event. The ceremonial has become a part of who we are and it is sad to see it go. On the other hand, we are looking forward to the new Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity which we plan to host for the first time in March. Also in attendance for today’s event were several state staff members and officers. Following the ceremony, all were treated to a wonderful luncheon which was prepared by Brother John Newcomb. Brother John went way above and beyond to plan the meal, purchase the supplies and cook a great feast for all. Following the meal the state council hosted an exemplification of the third degree.
