Pancreatic Cancer Awareness/Scholarship Drive

Project Description:

Springvale Knights with Council #2755 supported a fundraiser in the Sanford/Springvale area in memory of Pete Caramahalis who passed away of pancreatic cancer in August of 2022. Several businesses in town and community members donated items of a raffle, tshirts were sold, a meat raffle was held as well as a large raffle with high ticket items. Springvale council sponsored 1 of the meat raffles and Knights helped publicize the event as well as selling tickets for the event. A total of $6700 was raised, $3600 set up for scholarships for high school students in the culinary arts program at Sanford High School in his memory, and a donation of $3000 was given to PANCAM, a pancreatic cancer awareness not for profit organization. One of the drawings occurred on 9/17/2022 while the final event happened on 10/1/2022.
