Project Description:

Myself and my wife volunteer at a our parish food pantry at St. Joseph’s Church in Bridgton Maine 1 day a month. The food pantry serves area towns and feeds at least 50 families a month. The duties include, the distribution of food , area set up and sorting of various available food items as well the loading of food into client vehicles The available foods include bread, meat, vegetables, dairy, and some miscellaneous food items. The food is donated to the pantry by area supermarkets and by the Good Shepard Food Bank The number of food pantries in this area are constantly busy.You know that there is a great need for assistance and that we somehow make it easier for those in need by given our time is a reward in itself. To make friendships with those we work with and those we serve is its own reward.
