Raising donation for the Foundation for the Preservation of Christians

Raising donation for the Foundation for the Preservation of Christians

04/01/2018

Council: 11257 - PORTLAND

Project Description:

During a visitation to Councils 101 and 11257 State Deputy Gray challenge the district to raise an amount of $2000 for donation to the Foundation for the Preservation of Christians that supreme had championed. The $2000 was an amount that would cloth and shelter a family that was relocated by those who persecuted Christians in Europe, Asia and parts of the international communities at large. Council 101 has held a Charity raffle prior to the St. Pat’s holiday and utilized the monies raised for various charities throughout the fraternal year. Council 11257 partnered with 101 to sell the raffle tickets if the monies that 11257 sold would be matched by Council 101 to raise the $2000 for the foundation. Council 11257 Portland sold $1300 from the tickets and council 101 will be donating $700 in a match in order to make the donation of $2000. The raffle winners were drawn on St. Pat’s day at a corn beef and cabbage dinner held 3/17/18. We are in hopes that other councils will try and make a similar donation to the foundation. This continues the tradition of councils working together for the greater good of our christian community.
