Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

This year seven council brothers, their family members, and many other helping hands worked as a Team within the Parish of the Holy Eucharist from December 1, – December 22, 2018. This year marks the fifth annual Christmas Gift giving program here at the Parish of the Holy Eucharist. Below you will find a break down by Church of all activities which took place in each Church.
~ St. Jude Church – worked with Freeport Community Services to respond to families who had asked for help. We adopted 10 families through FCS — 55 gifts were provided. Gifts of 15 calendars were donated to a project organized by a local minister, the Reverend Lin Peyton.
~ St. Gregory Church – The church worked with the Gray-New Gloucester communities. It resulted in gifts for 12 families, including 37 children. Approximately 150 gifts were distributed.
~ Holy Martyrs Church – Falmouth provided 200 gifts and gift cards for youth held at Long Creek Youth Development Center. Gifts were also provided to young people under supervision by the Department of Corrections. Holy Martyrs distributed 27 food baskets to families requesting help. The food benefited approximately 130 people.
~ Sacred Heart Church~ refugee/immigrant families received 110 gifts – clothing, household items. There were 11 individuals — two family groups and a third mixed group. In addition, gift cards — two each– were given to eight religious Sisters. Veterans at Togus received 100 wall calendars from the Knights of Columbus and an additional 100 calendars were distributed to nursing homes, pantries and subsidized housing complex.

Each year this program continues to grow in gift giving. May GOD Bless all who donated their Time and Treasurer’s in support of this most Blessed Program. We look forward as a council in helping where needed once again in 2019.
