Red Cross Blood Drive

Project Description:

This was the annual 2019 blood drive sponsored by our council (13486). It was held in the gymnasium at Mt. Merici Academy in Waterville. Council members assisted the Red Cross personnel in setting up the equipment prior to donor arrivals. We also manned the registration desk and monitored the donors after their blood donation. At the end of the drive, we cleared the gym facility and replaced all chairs and tables into the storage areas. The school principal was very pleased with our efforts to clean up after the event.
The results were good, with 27 pints of blood collected over the 5 hours of donations.
We anticipate continuing this program at least once per year to help with this area’s need for critical blood supply levels.
