Repairs of Parish Kitchen Stove

Repairs of Parish Kitchen Stove

Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK

Project Description:

On 10 May 2018 the Grand Knight was informed by St Anthony Representatives that the Parish Hall Kitchen Stove was no longer safe to use and had been completely shut down. After discussion with the Sebago Lake Region Parishes Business Manager it was learned that in order to get the stoves up and running again, financial assistance would be needed. Prior to being advised of the situation a member of the council had took it upon himself to go out and obtain estimates for the repairs which total up to $1,300 dollars. On May 12th 2018, the Grand Knight informed council members of the situation, and further informed them that we had a scheduled event coming up on May 19th, that would give us the funds to help the parish pay for the repairs. All agreed that since the stove is a major need of the parish we should assist in paying for the cost of the repairs. The Business Manager was contracted and related that if the Knights could assist in paying half of the cost, which was agreed upon, that he would make arrangements to get the repairs done prior to May 19, 2018, which was the date that the Council was to put on a Meal for the Daughters of Isabella. On May 16th, 2018 the stove in the Parish Hall Kitchen was repaired and on May 19th after sponsoring a meal, raised ample funds to help defray the cost of the repairs. A check for $650 dollars was presented to the Parish Business Manager.
