Project Description:

During the Month of August a petition drive was conducted to have bills that passed through the State of Maine legislature and have them put to ballot. Those petitions were to against a bill to permit public funding of abortion and death with dignity ( assisted suicide). The Council drew the action on these petitions. Our members collected signatures at the end of every Mass in the Cluster for three weeks. Once the signatures were collected, we drove to all of the municipalities and had the signatures verified. All signed petitions were then forwarded to the state via the Pregnancy Care Center Aroostook which was the coordinator for the County.
