Seminarians – 25th Annual Harold H.O. Bouchard Memorial Golf Tournament
Seminarians - 25th Annual Harold H.O. Bouchard Memorial Golf Tournament
Council: 114 - BANGOR
Project Description:
Big Goals realized in 2021, with another very Successful Knights of Columbus Hosted Golf Tournament at Hermon Meadows Golf Course on September 11th, 2021. The planning for said event started early, registration forms were mailed to local businesses, Knights and friends of the council. In all 17 teams signed up to participate and all teams where full four person teams. This year we introduced a Yellow Ball as a novelty twist to the scoring, this garnered an additional $500.00 in proceeds and seemed to go over very well.
In addition to the Golf Tournament due to the date selected 9/11, the Knights made a public display in Honor our Hero’s who lost their life in the tragic events of America’s worst terrorist attack in history. The display was well placed, right in front of the golf course on Hay Bails, with American Flags flying around the display as well as on top of it. Prior to the start of the tournament some words were shared with the participants and a moment of silence was observed in remembrance of those lives lost and to our liberties.
Once again the event coordinators Matt Madore and Keith Forbes gave this project their all and the event was a huge success. Here’s the results: This event garnered over $7,700.00, of which $4,000.00 was used for Seminarian Scholarships. Eight in all: All eight in the amount of $500.00 and a $500.00 check for Fr. Dube to aid in recruiting future Priests. The remainder of the money plus a little extra went to the All Saint’s Catholic School Robotic’s Teams, four in all, here in Bangor. The Knights presented checks totaling $4,000.00 to the teams in this unprecedented show of SUPPORT for our Catholic Students and towards our future Leaders of tomorrow. How fantastic is that! Could not be more PROUD of this Council, Council 114!!!!
