Project Description:
On Sunday December 16,2018 the Catholic Golden Age Club put on the Annual Christmas Party. It was held at Holy Rosary Parish Center in Caribou. All over the age of 50 are invited to this Christmas Party. This is open to all faiths. The party included Santa Claus, Bingo,15 choir members from all over the county, they not only sang but played musical instruments. What an awesome job by all! From start to finish including the prep and clean up took 50 hours. The meal included:Turkeys, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, squash, string beans, carrots, and corn, a variety of drinks, pastries and candy canes .All the food and trimmings were homemade. We fed over 100 people. A whole turkey and trays of potatoes and all the trimmings that were left over were delivered to our local soup kitchen, (approximately two days of meals.) The Brother Knights and wives assisted in many ways: such as cooking the Turkeys, pastries as well as prep and clean up. All had a great time and fellowship. For some this is the only time they socialize and have a good wholesome meal. We were honored to have the Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Dave with us. What a better way to Honor our founder,Fr. Michael J McGiviney then to feed the people and honor the people of the community. Our Modern Day Disciples at work.
