Seventh Annual "Coats for Kids Program". 15791

Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

Our Grand Knight, two of our Past Grand Knights, members in attendance at the monthly business meeting, along with four of the Parish Food Pantry Volunteer’s worked together in supporting, ordering, and passing out, of 48 new winter jackets to the needy children during December 2021. Seven years ago, one of our council members who works as a volunteer at the local pantry brought the idea to our Business Meeting. With Covid-19 variants still very active in our area it was decided by council vote to take $1,100.00 from the council account and purchase 48 new winter coats for the four Food Pantries in our Parish. Two cases for the girls and two for the boys. After some discussion it was voted on and approved to purchase the winter coats. We had several nice compliments on the quality of the coats, and also some of the mothers thanked us personally. This was a Blessed event not only for the Children and their Families receiving the coats, but also for us as Knights and Food Pantry Volunteers. Pictured with this report is PGK Mike Crowley making a presentation to the Manager of Programs for the Freeport Community Services. We are hoping to be able to help out our Food Pantries once again in 2022 with this most Worthy Program.
