Project Description:

I am a member of the Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center Board of Directors. There is also another Knight on the Board. On July 29th we attended a Board meeting that lasted 1 !/2 hours. The Board discussed and voted on a number of items that affect the agency.
Our service on this Board allows the agency to function effectively. The agency provides the victims of sexual assault, many of whom are children, a safe environment in which they are interviewed and supported. Support and court advocacy is also provided to victims and their families as their case goes through the court system.
Educational services are also offered to the community often through the school system. The support that this agency offers to law enforcement is invaluable. During my career as an investigator I came to know and respect the work and the staff of this extremely valuable agency.
