Significant Donation to St Anthony’s Capital Campaign
Significant Donation to St Anthony's Capital Campaign
Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK
Project Description:
in recent years, St. Anthony’s Parish, in Westbrook, ME has undergone a complete renovation of the building as well as the reconstruction and repaving of the parking lot. One area that was not able to be included in the renovation work was the exterior side entrance to the sanctuary. Church officials, including members of Council 2219, determined the entrance to be unsafe and closed the entrance until the repairs could be completed. The Diocese approved a capital campaign and the parish employed an engineer to design the rebuilt entrance and Knights were an integral part of that exercise which resulted in a plan for the new entrance. The St. Anthony’s Parish Capital Campaign to fund the rebuilding of the side entrance into the sanctuary was significantly supported by Westbrook Council 2219 who voted to make and made a $25,000 contribution to the Capital Campaign to help ensure the success of the campaign which totals $150,000. Westbrook Council 2219 was joined by The Holy Name Society and dedicated parishioners, including fellow Knights, who also made significant contributions to the campaign. All St. Anthony’s parishioners were also encouraged to fund this capital campaign. The work is expected to be completed sometime in 2019. The Westbrook Council 2219 is honored to be such a large contributor to this needed project.
