Project Description:

St Joseph Church Food Pantry serves Bridgton, Fryeburg and other communities by providing a food pantry visited by indigent clients who have to provide food for their families. The Food Pantry takes delivery of primarily processed retail food items from the Good Shepherd Food Bank, and provides these to clients on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Essentially, clients load up food shopping carts with food their families need – all food is free of charge. Generally, the Food Pantry serves about 40-60 families each Tuesday it is open.
Food is delivered to the Food Pantry on the 2nd Monday of each month, and has to be unpacked from the Good Shepherd food truck, and stored at St Joseph Church, Bridgton. On Monday, June 10, I assisted unloading and storing the food for about 2 hours. There were about 6 other parish members assisting in this effort.
