Project Description:
4th Degree Knight Tom Leonard and 1st Degree Knight Joe Balchunas assisted the St Joseph Church Food Pantry in making food available to families shopping for their core food needs. On Aug 23rd, Tom assisted by helping to display food delivered by the Good Shepherd Food Bank to the St Joseph Church Food Pantry for families who stopped by to shop. Joe helped clients pack their vehicles with food, and later assisted in storing carts and coolers which were used for the distribution. Tom worked 5 hours and Joe worked 3 hours (8 manhours) that day. There were about 11 other parishioners participating, who belong to the Food Pantry.
The St Joseph Church Food Pantry services indigent families living in the communities of Bridgton, Fryeburg, Naples and Harrison. Food was distributed to 23 families. Food items consist of cereals, canned goods, snacks, boxes of pasta, frozen meat, produce, butter and bread.
