Take Out Dinner Fundraiser for OLH Parish
Take Out Dinner Fundraiser for OLH Parish
Council: 101 - PORTLAND
Project Description:
Seven members of the Knights of Columbus Council 101 along with five other parishioners prepared, packaged and handed out 112 grilled chicken dinners which also included baked beans, coleslaw, a roll and a cookie. This fundraiser netted $1750, after costs of $650 for food and carry out containers, for Our Lady of Hope parish. Preparation of the meals was a time consuming two day event, but was well received by the parish community and was a nice fund raising activity for the parish. People had to order and prepay for their meals a few days before they could pick them up on Saturday, August 1st between 5 and 6 PM in the St. Pius X church parking lot. The take out dinners were delivered to people while they stayed in their cars. This, along with limiting the number of volunteers and everyone wearing masks, made this a safe activity during the current pandemic.
