Council: 334 - AUGUSTA

Project Description:

“The Church is not the Clergy; the Church is not the Mass; the Church is not the building; the Church is the Family!” These words were spoken by Fr. Jacob George, Catholic Chaplain at VAC, Togus, as he gave the blessing at the start of a Family BBQ, held at his apartment. He welcomed about 50 guests, most of whom were Knights and their families, who regularly attend Mass at the Veteran’s Hospital. Fr. Jacob cooked Indian-spiced chicken drumsticks, hotdogs, and burgers, while the guests brought the sides and desserts. Everyone, of all ages, enjoyed his hospitality and each other’s company. Father Jacob stated that he plans on making this event an annual family event for this stand-alone Parish in Maine of the Archdiocese of the Military Services. He thanked the Knights of Columbus for their significant contributions in several of the ministries at Togus, and for their help in organizing this event. Representatives from all Councils in the District were in attendance
