Wakes and Funerals for Fallen Brothers

Project Description:

Throughout the year, Council 680 pays respect to the families of Brothers who have died by attending the wakes and
funerals of our fallen Brothers. At the wake, we hold a prayer service led by our Church Director. We distribute
prayer cards to those in attendance and invite them to also participate in the prayer service. We present a certificate
of condolence to the widow or family members of our fallen Brother along with a card of sympathy signed by all the
Brothers in attendance. At the funeral, we pay our respect by attending and participating at the wishes of the family.
We have participated as pall bearers, lecturers, altar servers, and Eucharistic ministers. This past year, we
participated in the wake and funeral of 2 fallen Brothers.
